SS REINA DEL
MAR
Reina del Mar was the last passenger
ship built for the Pacific Steam Navigation Company
and their South American service. At the time she
was the largest, fastest and only fully
air-conditioned passenger liner operating a regular
service between the UK, France, Spain and the west
coast of South America via the Panama Canal.
Note that the photo
below shows
a model that was built quite some time ago. It is our third-generation ocean
liner models. When you order a new one, it will be fifth-generation which started in 2018. Numerous examples of 5th-generation models can be found on our
Web site such as the
SS Bremen or
Brilliance of the Seas.
This primarily
wood Reina del Mar model features:
Plank-on-frame hull
- Windows and portholes are cutouts
(not black decals or indentation) which are clean,
uniform, and aligned. We are not shy
to show the model in large photos. Nothing to hide!

Don't be fooled by some model makers out
there who freely claim their model "museum quality" or
even "true museum quality". Their ships are wrong on
many counts to start with (horrible hulls). The paint
job is coarse. Portholes and windows not uniform and not
aligned. Go here to learn more:
how to choose a model ship.
"Finally Reina del Mar is at home in Santiago, after a long trip. I have
to congratulate you for the outstanding packaging which allowed the
model to arrive without a scratch. I am also amazed of your transport
and post service that, in the middle of Christmas, managed to deliver
this big box in my hotel in NY. All this only encourages me to do more
things with you during 2010, God willing. I think the MOSHULU would be a
good one. By the way, I loved your Reina del Mar replica.
Have a happy Christmas,
Luis"
